October 8th，International famous academic journals Science published special reports Noble in Spirit, Endless in Knowledge， Shandong University Celebrates 120 years of Excellence. It introduces Shandong University's achievements in the past 120 years.

In the Science special interview, President Fan Liming presented Shandong University Turns 120: Celebrating a legacy of Innovation. This paper introduces Shandong University's 120 years of history and outstanding achievements in six aspects, including its historical evolution, advantageous disciplines, educational philosophy, recent achievements, internationalization strategy and development blueprint.

In addition, the report mainly focuses on the university's six dominant disciplines and key areas of introduction. The first part focuses on the discipline of financial mathematics, showing the research history of academician Peng Shige and his team. The second part introduces the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology, and reports the breakthroughs made by academician Zhang Youming and his team. The third part presents the cutting-edge research carried out by the reproductive medicine discipline team led by Academician Chen Zijiang.

The fourth part focuses on cardiovascular research and introduces the first-class achievements made by Academician Zhang Yun and his team. The fifth part reports how academician Li Shucai led the geotechnical engineering team to solve the worldwide technical problems with technological innovation; The sixth part is about archaeology, especially science and technology archaeology.
