On May 30th, the Electrical Engineering College held the undergraduate student awards ceremony "Electrical Star" at the Xinglongshan Campus to recognize outstanding individual and group of student.
The "Jinghong" Chorus of the Electrical Engineering College performed the song "Pursuit" with a melodious and inspiring voice, marking the official start of the ceremony.
Yin Lumin, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Electrical Engineering College, delivered the opening speech. He emphasized that the "Electrical Star" awards ceremony not only acknowledges and honors the achievements of the students but also serves as a guiding example. He presented three expectations to the electrical engineering students: firstly, students should have firm beliefs and improve qualities. Diligently study and promote the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, deeply comprehend the significance of "two centenary goals", strengthen "four consciousnesses", maintain "four confidences" and fulfill "two upholds", fostering strong beliefs and political commitment. Secondly, students should study diligently and embrace innovation. Uphold the rigorous academic tradition of the university, embody the values of patriotism, aspiration, truth-seeking, and dedication, cherish time, pursue knowledge and character development, and lay a solid foundation for future scientific research and work. Thirdly, students should be daring and become pioneers of the new era. Start from small steps, turn ideals into reality, use personal growth as the driving force of youth, and utilize practical innovation as the motivation for a bright future. Students ought to integrate their personal dreams with the grand dreams of Shandong University and the Chinese dream, displaying profound patriotism and the courage to take on responsibilities.
Ding Lei, the Dean of the Electrical Engineering College, announced the commendation decisions. After recommendations from the respective grade and evaluations by the college, it was decided to award the title of "Electrical Star" to 28 students, including Yang Zixuan, for their outstanding individual achievements, and to recognize Class 6 of the 2019 as an "Electrical Star" outstanding collective.
Song Sili, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, presented awards to the "Comprehensive Development Star" and the "Social Work Star" .Wang Haihua, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, presented the "Thought Leadership Star" award. Yang Ming, the Vice Dean, presented the "Academic and Research Star" and the "Outstanding Class Collective" awards. Sun Yuanyuan, the Assistant Dean and Director of the Teaching Center, presented the "Campus Culture Star" and the "Excellent Dormitory" awards. Zhang Li, a member of the college party committee and the Chief Expert of the teaching center, presented the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Star" award to Huang Zheng. Xue Hui, a deputy division-level organizer, presented the "Practice and Service Star" and the "Outstanding Dormitory for High Achievers" awards.
During the ceremony, outstanding student representatives Yang Zixuan, Zhang Zhenxin, and Ren Xinyue shared their stories of growth and success. Parents of the outstanding student representatives, Zhang Jianrong, Ma Baowei, and Bu Weiwei, delivered speeches on the theme of "Collaborative Education between School and Home".
The ceremony concluded with a performance of the song "The Brightest Star in the Night Sky" by Liu Yifan and Zhong Yunchu from the Cultural and Art Troupe of the Electrical Engineering College. As the stage lights transformed into flickering stars, their melodious voices illuminated the atmosphere, inspiring electrical engineering students to courageously pursue their goals.
With exemplary leadership and youthful enthusiasm, the Electrical Engineering College's "Electrical Star" awards ceremony for the academic year 2022 showcased the outstanding qualities of its students, conveyed the spirit of progress and dedication, and fostered an environment of excellence and aspiration.
