On June 8,The Electrical Engineering College held its Annual Student Congress for the academic year 2022-2023 on June 8th at the Xinglong Mountai- n Campus. The conference included a summary of the annual student wo-
rk and the election of student representatives. Wang Haihua, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Electrical Engineering College, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Qiu Yao, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and undergraduate counselors Liu Xin, Xu Fangzhou, Fang Hua, and Liu Deshuo were also present, along with the candidates for the Student Union Chairmanship and hundreds of student representatives.
With the inspiring sound of the "March of the Volunteers," all the faculty and students stood up and sang the national anthem. After the anthem, the Annual Student Congress officially began.
Wang Haihua expressed several hopes for all the members of the conference, student cadres, and the newly elected backbone members of student organizations. Firstly, he emphasized the importance of maintaining firm beliefs. Student organizations should always work under the leadership of the Party and the guidance of the Youth League, guiding students to unwaveringly listen to and follow the Party. Secondly, he stressed the need to serve fellow students. Student organizations should always prioritize the interests of their fellow students, represent them, rely on them, and provide them with service. Thirdly, he urged everyone to be exemplary role models. All student cadres should strive for self-improvement and become models of comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. They should become exemplary pioneers who pursue excellence, representing the spirit of Shandong University and the Electrical Engineering College.
Wang Haoyu presented the "Work Report of the Student Union of the Electrical Engineering College for the 2022-2023 Academic Year." He highlighted the need to deepen organizational reforms, ensuring that the structure of the Student Union is reasonable, clear, and compliant with requirements. He also emphasized that Student Union ought to maintain standardized construction, strict discipline, and promotes unity. In terms of focusing on the master responsibility, he indicated that we should focus on political guidance and serve the needs of students' ideological growth; we should strengthen value advocacy and serve the spiritual and cultural needs of students; we should support students' learning and growth to serve the needs of their all-round development. It is necessary to solve practical difficulties and serve the needs of students' campus life.
Zhao Shibo presented the "Report on Student Development Rights and Interests Work of the Electrical Engineering College for the 2022-2023 Academic Year." He pointed out that in the previous academic year, the Life and Interests Center adhered to innovation, serving the growth and development of students, and added color of youth to the development of the college. The center maintained a clear direction, implemented reforms, and effectively supported the rights and interests work in new forms. The center strengthened their beliefs, held the principle of serving students, and supported the comprehensive advancement of the rights and interests work with new ideas. The center found the right starting point to guarantee student life, and supported the steady progress of the rights and interests work with new norms. The center kept pace with the times, consolidated the youth, and supported the breakthroughs in the rights and interests work with new beginnings.
During the congress, there was an election campaign and defense for the 2023 Student Union Chairmanship of the Electrical Engineering College.
Student representative Ren Xinyue led the study of "General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Speech at the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China" and student representative Wang Zhuming led the study of relevant theories such as the "Four Confidences" "Four Consciousnesses" "Two Centenary Goals" and "Two Safeguards". They guided their fellow students to become passionate, aspiring, responsible, proactive, quality-oriented, and well-cultivated individuals at Shandong University's Electrical Engineering College.
Finally, all participants sang the "Shandong University Anthem".
